Jolene’s Journey

How It Started

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene!

Jolene was found wandering along the side of a busy road as a stray. She was occasionally darting into traffic, narrowly escaping being struck by a car. Other drivers tried to capture Jolene, but had no luck doing so. Fortunately, a good Samaritan didn't give up and was eventually able to bring her to safety. [Thank you, Brandi Michael & Family!]

She was taken to Dr. Joy Culbertson at Holmes Vet for her initial evaluation. She was in pretty rough shape when she was first found. She was also heartworm positive.

Jolene spent the last month boarded at Holmes Vet while she completed heartworm treatment. She was also spayed during her stay.

Why was she boarded for so long? Because there were no available foster families able to take this sweet girl in.

Jolene joined the Dog Squad as a foster on Friday 9/9/22. She was very timid and terrified of her new surroundings.

In less than a week, Jolene has come out of her shell and has integrated into the Dog Squad effortlessly. She interacts well with all 12 Dog Squad members and plays gently with anyone (dog or human) willing to play!

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
