Meet Rusty!

Rusty was found by a good friend of ours on 5/23/23. He was running as a stray in their neighborhood. When Summer tried to pick him up, he rolled over submissively and was SO excited to be held!

Squad Foster Rusty met Dr. Palmer at Five Forks Animal Hospital for his initial puppy exam on 5/26/23, and he was the best boy during his appointment! He received his first round of puppy vaccinations (rabies, parvo, Bordetella), had a fecal and dewormer, and received his first dose of heartworm prevention medication. Rusty will receive his second round of puppy shots on 6/16/23. Besides being malnourished, Dr. Palmer described Rusty as a healthy pup, estimated to be around 4-5 months old.

THANK YOU Brynn, Adam, & Astra Jenkins for supporting us by fostering sweet Rusty!

Update 6/23/23

Squad Foster Rusty had a tough week, and we need your help. On Tuesday, Rusty couldn’t snap out of extreme lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Rusty spent Wednesday at Five Forks Animal Hospital where Dr. Palmer worked her magic on this sweet boy. Rusty was given much-needed fluids, conducted thorough tests, and sent him home with a supply of medications. The great news is that all the lab results came back normal! Rusty is just your typical curious pup, and it seems he might have snacked on some hosta plants in the backyard, which are toxic to our furry friends.

Currently, Rusty is back home recovering with his loving foster parents, and he'll be on a bland diet for a couple more days to aid his healing process. However, we're reaching out to you for assistance: Rusty's vet bill amounts to $401, and we kindly ask for your support in covering these expenses.

Your donation, which is tax deductible, and no amount is too small. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity! You can donate via Venmo or PayPal (@dogsquad88), or donate by credit/debit card with the button below.

Update 6/9/23

Squad Foster Rusty woke up with some eye irritation yesterday, which prompted his foster mom to take him to Five Forks Animal Hospital. Thankfully, Dr. Schmitz determined it was just allergies and nothing more serious.

Rusty is having a blast with his foster family. He’s developed a strong bond with his foster sister, Astra, engaging in playful games of tug-of-war and joyfully chasing each other around the backyard.

Rusty’s playful nature is balanced by his incredibly loving personality. He’s the biggest sweetheart who adores cuddling and showering his foster humans with affection. Despite his playful side, Rusty’s heart is filled with warmth and tenderness.

In addition to being playful and affectionate, Rusty is also a smart little pup! He’s diligently working on mastering the art of loose leash walking, displaying his intelligence and eagerness to learn and please.

Next Friday 6/16/23, Rusty will receive his next round of puppy shots, ensuring his health and wellbeing. There will be one additional round of puppy shots after that to complete his immunization schedule.

If you’re looking for a furry friend who combines playfulness, intelligence, and affection, Rusty is the perfect match for you. Open your heart and home to Rusty, and you’ll be rewarded with endless love and joy.
