Saturday 3/23/24 marked the beginning of a beautiful journey for Amee. It started when Randy set out to GCAC with a mission to brighten a shelter dog's day through a delightful field trip, a new initiative we're excited to undertake 1-2x a month. Little did we know, Amee was about to step out of the shelter for the last time.
Upon being chosen, Amee's adventure kicked off with a full exploration of the yard, getting acquainted with new scents and surroundings, symbolizing the start of her new chapter. The day only got better from there, with a pampering spa session at Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, where she emerged not just sparkling clean but with a new aura of confidence.
Her special day was made complete with a bully stick chosen by none other than Amee herself, and what better way to wrap up a perfect outing than with a delicious serving of doggy ice cream from Bruster's?!
Amee is the embodiment of sweetness, with a love for cold hot dogs that could melt any heart. Though she may appear shy at first glance, a bit of tender loving care and patience reveal the loving soul that lies within. At 2-3 years old and recently spayed, Amee's past may remain a mystery, but her future looks brighter than ever.
Despite the challenges she faced, including injuries to her mouth and paws during her rescue, her spirit remains unbroken. Amee's resilience is a testament to her incredible will to thrive and embrace love once more.
As we welcome Amee into the Squad, we're reminded of the power of compassion and the indomitable spirit of animals in the face of adversity.
Join us in cheering for Amee as she embarks on her journey towards healing, happiness, and finding a forever home.

Yesterday, Amee visited Riverside Vet for an evaluation, primarily concerning her uneven pupil sizes. As always, Dr. Price provided exceptional care to this sweet girl during her visit.
Amee has a persistent sore on her flank, and she was prescribed Prednisone and Clindamycin to treat the stubborn spot that is refusing to heal. She was also prescribed an antibiotic ointment for her eyes.
The Good News: Amee continues to test negative for heartworm, and her bloodwork results looked great!
The Concern: Dr. Price has referred Amee to a specialist for further investigation into potential neurological issues. The differential diagnoses might include neurological complications, a brain tumor, or a viral infection impacting her nervous system. However, no immediate physical abnormalities were observed beyond her eye condition.
We're currently waiting to schedule an appointment with the specialist, as Dr. Price has already sent the referral. We will update y’all once the appointment is scheduled.
A special shoutout to Katie and Ryan for their unconditional love and patience while fostering Amee. We're immensely grateful you guys!
Saturday was filled with adventure and new experiences for Amee, thanks to her amazing foster parents. They journeyed to Unity Park in Greenville, where Amee got to indulge in some good people-watching at the Commons. The day was filled with learning and laughter, especially when they discovered Amee’s hilarious aversion to scooters!
But it wasn’t just about what Amee didn’t like. The day turned even more special when she met another dog and, showing how much she’s grown, warmed up to human friends of her foster family – the same ones she was unsure of just a week ago.
We can’t express enough gratitude towards Amee’s foster parents. Their dedication and love are not just giving Amee a temporary home, but are essential in building her confidence and teaching her to navigate the world with curiosity and joy.
