At Dog Squad, we understand that fostering a dog is a significant commitment, but it’s also an incredibly rewarding experience. To make your fostering journey as seamless as possible, we provide everything you need. Our support starts with the essentials—collars, harnesses, leashes, toys, crates, food, blankets, beds, treats, gates, and even doggy diapers when necessary. We’ve got you covered so that you can focus on what really matters: providing a loving home.
Beyond supplying physical items, our commitment to you and your foster dog includes comprehensive veterinary care and preventive measures. We ensure that all medical needs are met, from regular check-ups to any specific treatments required.
Our support network extends further with access to professional dog trainers and experienced foster mentors. Whether you're navigating your foster dog's behavioral challenges or need emotional support, our team is here to help every step of the way.
Providing a temporary home for a dog until it is adopted. This includes basic care, socialization, and sometimes training.
Caring for dogs that need special medical attention or are recovering from surgery or illness. This can include administering medications, taking the dog to vet appointments, and ensuring a safe and clean environment.
Providing immediate, short-term care for dogs in urgent situations, such as those rescued from shelters that are about to euthanize them or those displaced due to cruelty or natural disasters.
Also referred to as “hospice fostering.” Offering a loving home for terminally ill or senior dogs to ensure they spend their remaining time in comfort and surrounded by care.
Fostering a dog involves more than just giving them shelter—it’s about making them a part of your family. This might include taking them to vet appointments, participating in special events, and providing a safe, supportive environment for animals that may have experienced trauma.
We’ve found that our most successful foster families are those who appreciate the realities of working with a small, foster-based organization. While we run as efficiently as possible to maximize resources for animal care, flexibility and understanding from our foster families are crucial. Rest assured, Dog Squad will provide all necessary supplies such as food and crates during the foster period.
If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact and have room in your home and heart for a foster pet, we invite you to fill out our Foster Application. Join us at Dog Squad and become a vital part of transforming lives—one paw at a time.
As a foster family, you get the first opportunity to adopt your foster dog if you decide you can’t part ways. This means you have a unique chance to see if the dog is a perfect fit for your family before making a long-term commitment.
If you decide not to adopt your foster dog, you still play a crucial role in their future. You’ll have the opportunity to review adoption applications and help choose the best possible family for the dog, ensuring they go to a loving and suitable home.
