Welcome to the Squad, Bridge. 🤍

 Bridge has been through more than any dog should have to endure. Hit by a car—twice—while living as a stray. Attacked by another dog while trying to survive. Wounded, terrified, and alone, he crawled under a stranger’s house and stayed there, too afraid to come out.

But the universe had something different in mind for Bridge.

Our friend Sara—Dog Squad alum mom to Ellie and current foster to Winston—saw a desperate plea for help on the Nextdoor app. At the time, every rescue (ours included) was overwhelmed and unable to jump in. But Sara didn’t give up. She kept showing up. Kept searching. Kept hoping.

And thanks to the incredible team at Anakin's Trails, Bridge was finally brought to safety.

Sara didn’t wait for a rescue to say yes—she became the yes. She opened her heart and home to a dog in desperate need and took on all of his emergency veterinary care, not because she had to, but because that’s just who she is.

Last week, we officially met Bridge. We paid his bill at Augusta Road Animal Hospital, got him microchipped, and welcomed him into our care.

Bridge is around 8 years old. Somehow, despite everything, he has no broken bones or internal injuries. He’s heartworm negative. He’s house trained. And what he wants most now is a cozy couch and a quiet place to rest.

He’s vaccinated and will be neutered soon—and most importantly, he’s safe.
