Winston is a shy and sensitive guy with a heart full of love to give. He’s estimated to be around 4–5 years old, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations. According to his DNA test, Winston is 75% American Pit Bull Terrier and 25% Chinese Shar Pei—basically, 100% lovable house hippo.
This sweet boy is the definition of a Velcro dog. Once he forms a bond, he sticks like glue. Whether you’re working from home or winding down for the evening, Winston wants nothing more than to be close by, soaking up affection and offering his quiet companionship.
Because he’s such a sensitive soul, new environments and fast-paced situations can feel overwhelming. But with patience, structure, and love, Winston opens up and truly shines. He’s currently thriving in his foster home, where he continues to build on the confidence and manners he learned while training with Guiding Canines. He’s a total gentleman!
Winston gets along well with other dogs and is cat-friendly too. That said, he’s not a fan of chaos—so a calm home with adults or older kids (10+) is best.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will love you unconditionally and never leave your side, Winston just might be the one.

How do we know? Because Winston is one of the most loyal dogs we’ve ever met. Once he finds his person, he’ll be your ride-or-die—glued to your side and loving you unconditionally. It’s no coincidence his breed is a Chinese Velcro House Hippo.
Winston graduated from training with Guiding Canines and has been thriving ever since! His foster mom continues to build on his skills, and this sweet guy shows off his confidence and impeccable manners every day. He’s a total gentleman with a heart of gold.

Winston was such a good boy today.
This sweet, sensitive guy had his vet visit at Riverside Vet and handled it like a champ. He’s got a couple broken canines, but thankfully they don’t seem to be causing him any pain. He’ll go back in a few weeks for a dental cleaning, but overall—he’s a healthy boy.
Winston is a soft soul. He’s still figuring out the world, but he’s getting braver every day. He’s already bonded with his foster mom’s dogs (especially Squad alum Ellie), and he wants nothing more than to stick close to his people. He’s great with kids but would do best in a quieter home with older children—he gets overwhelmed with too much chaos.
He’ll be starting training with Valentina at Guiding Canines on July 1st to help him build confidence and get him ready for his forever family.
Thanks for cheering Winston on. We believe in him—and we know you do too.
We’re asking for help covering Winston’s vet bill from today and his upcoming training. We know times are tough, but even a few dollars truly makes a difference. We can’t do any of this without you.
